Whether we work in-house, or for outside clients -- UX Pros ought to always operate with a "consulting" mindset.  We have to prove our value -- and successfully influence teams of marketers, engineers, and designers so that the user experience improves.

Come see real examples of quick "Lean UX" style deliverables, as well as much larger, more formal video-based deliverables and hear tales from the trenches with real teams at PayPal, including work on the new Homepage, the PayPal Here mobile payments device, and checkout.

Schedule:

6:00 - 6:30: Networking & Light Snacks
6:30 - 7:30: Presentation by Michael Summers
7:30 - 9:00: Q/A followed by Post Event Drinks at Clyde's of Chevy Chase.

Location:

Rock Creek Strategic Marketing
2 Wisconsin Circle, Suite 1010
Chevy Chase, MD 20815

Directions to Rock Creek

About the Speaker:

Michael Summers has held senior UX Research roles with Scient (NYC), Nielsen Norman Group (NYC), GSI Commerce (Philadelphia), and PayPal.  He has spoken at SXSW, Shop.org, Internet Retailer, London Conversion Conference, Germany Conversion Summit, Stockholm Conversion Jam, China User Friendly, CHI, AIGA, and UXPA.

Sponsor & Volunteer Opportunities:

We'll need a few student volunteers to help with the talk, and while Rock Creek has offered their space, we'd also be delighted to have drink/snack sponsors.  Please contact John Whalen for more information or to volunteer.
