Plain language, web sites, documents, and UX: You can do all that!

We are giving away two copies of Ginny's book, Letting Go of the Words.

Directions to Carriage House Conference Center

Schedule:

6:30 – 7:00 -  Networking + great food! (sushi, gourmet snacks, wine)

7:00 – 8:00 - Presentation, followed by Q&A

Full Description:

Federal employees, contractors, consultants: Your agencies MUST start writing in plain language. It's the law!

Of course, we should all embrace plain language as a moral requirement and the way to succeed in business.

Yes, we hope to see more usability testing of the content (not just the navigation) of web sites and documents. But helping your clients and colleagues "do" plain language starts way before usability testing.

Come spend an hour with Ginny Redish and explore how critical you are to helping people understand that plain language is more than short words and short sentences. Plain language = usability = UX = using personas and scenarios to plan, organize, and develop successful content.

Whether you are very comfortable with content, writing, plain language – or not, you'll see new ways to think about your writing and to help others improve what they write.
